20 Years of Excellence in Health and Safety
Atkins is celebrating two decades of excellence in health and safety after receiving the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) certification for the 20th consecutive year and RoSPA’s highest accolade – the Order of Distinction for the fifth year running.
Atkins' Asset Management business has led the way in Health & Safety best practice for many years and were the first ever organisation to be awarded the Order of Distinction in recognition for its sustained achievement and commitment to health and safety standards after 15 consecutive years of winning the RoSPA Gold Award.
The RoSPA awards are not just about reducing the number of accidents and cases of ill-health at work; they help to ensure that organisations have good health and safety management systems in place. Entering the awards scheme reinforces the message that good health and safety is good business and clearly demonstrates an organisation’s commitment to the achievement of high levels of performance in this crucial area.
Commenting on the asset management firm’s success, Peter Benson, AAM Director responsible for Quality, Safety and the Environment, said, “20 years of recognition at this level is an incredible milestone to achieve, no other organisation has matched our consistency over the years in Health & Safety. Due to the nature of our business the H&S risks can be high, therefore, our commitment to maintaining exemplary H&S standards is vital for the safety of our people.”
David Rawlins, RoSPA Awards Manager, added “Atkins Asset Management has demonstrated how seriously they take health and safety management and are a fine example to many other companies. We would like to see more organisations following their lead.”
